I won't sugarcoat this; it's garbage. Story 3/10 Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W is by far one of the most generic shows I have seen in some time. Its first season was barely passable as an anime and by god this season remains the same. The story picks off directly after the first with Mahiro housing crime fighting Nyaruko, Cthuko, and Hasuta. A bunch of stuff happens where the gang has to defeat bad guys bla bla bla. While I wish I could tell you what they did this season…I cannot recollect what the hell went on. I was just so mind numbingly bored that nothing really stuck through. The whole Nyaruko crushing on Mahiro continues this season with Cthuko even edging towards “the boy” early on in certain moments. These passes towards Mahiro though are a sad excuse for character development. Animation 4/10 Passable for maybe a 2010 anime. Some shots look good but they are far and few between. Sound 4/10 The voice actors did an ok job but since they mutter the same lines over and over again it gets quite boring and annoying. “Mahiro-san! Mahiro-san! Mahiro-san! Mahiro-san!” SHUT THE F$%K UP ALREADY! Also the generic soundtrack didn’t help the show out very much. Characters 2/10 Every character in this anime is just an empty shell of some sort of character type used in most anime. You have the shy and over used annoying male lead, the asserting female lead, and oh and a boy who wants Mahiro’s “D” and a girl who will swing for both teams. The characters did a piss poor job of providing any fun scenes. Literally every episode boils down to Nyaruko trying to get Mahiro to do something romantic while Cthuko and Hasuta try to cock block Nyaruko. Every episode just feels like the same events over and over and over again. Overall The funny thing is this review is probably way too generous. The only reason I bothered finishing this season is because a friend overseas somehow likes the show and it provides funny things to rant on. I have no idea how people support this sorry excuse for an anime when all it can muster is average at best quality. The characters are annoying, the sound is average, the animation is garbage by today’s standards, and the plot is so unattractive; do yourself a favor and stay far away from this mess. Kko wants Nyaruko, but believes that neither Nyaruko and Mahiro’s “first time” are part of him. Yoriko is accompanies it all and runs the house they live. Mahiro just wants to get some help. He doesn’t want to be a loving toy of a Nyarlathotepan, a Cthughan, or of a gun-like Hasturan. She may hold off or not. Cthuko Full character name Cthuko / Cthuko クー子 The Cthuko another alien species is a friend of Nyaruko’s childhood at kindergarten and elementary school. Instead of thinking of Nyaruko as her enemy because they’re different species, and both Cthuko and Nyarlotephian are enemies, she loves her deeply. Kuko is usually quiet and often irritates. Because of her love of sports, Nyaruko calls her “NEET”. Later in the second season, she starts to like Mahiro much because he played with her with the fact that she is engaged to him and she won’t marry her cousin. Hastur is true, although he appeared to be a child. Nyaruko and Cthuko call him “Hasutakun”. He has the air power, and is known to be stronger than Nyaruko and Cthuko both, since he always stood out in space school. Hastur is one of the earliest of its kind, as opposed to the term “Istur The Enigma” which means Hastur, that is is the word “He who is the deity of the wind”. Both are from the Cthulhu Mythos. In season 1, he says to Mahiro he loves him and when Mahiro says they both are boys, Hasuta replies by saying that he fell in love was just a boy. Mahiro somehow dodges his confession by saying that the world is 25 million years old and the same thing happens again after 25 million years, so that Mahiro says that he’ll accept him as his lover in the next cycle to which Hasuta has also agreed. He appears to be very obsessive if he is at any moment. Hasuta is transforming to a stronger and old man. After the third episode of the Second season, it is proved that he is very scared during his transformation. She perverted thoughts that always revolve around Mahiro, whom she loves deeply. She claims she was like at first sight also. You’re brutal when fighting, but she’s despite his bright personality. Since it’s a parody anime, Mahiro is a tsundere. Normally tsunderes would be female characters. It is shown that Mahiro dislikes Nyaruko, but prefers to feel aggressive. At the end of the series in Haiyore! Nyaruko-san F OVA Episode, when Nyaruko is about to lose all her memories she says that even if she loses all her memories she won’t forget Mahiro’s feelings. That made Mahiro a cry and accepted her and her own feelings. She kisses her and asks her if she means that, for which she promises she won’t. He kissed again and then returned back to normal life. However, neither of them had much memory of the events that happened that day. The next day she kisses him in class which ends the episode. Yasaka, Mahiro Voice Actor Language Kitamura, Eri Japanese Lee, Ju Chang Korean Cthune Full character name Cthune / Cthune クー音 Kuuko’s distant cousin and a Cthugha, who is sent to Mahiro’s residence to supervise him, have a huge crush on him. She’s also a Kuuko was young, she tricked him into saying she wants to marry Kuune sometime in the future, while Kuune recorded it and played it to the whole school. Hastur’s room is the most normal, then of course Kuuko’s room is mostly normal but also a shrine to Nyrauko. Nyrauko fools Mahiro into going to see her room, in turn making it a bathroom setting. She also gets Mahiro to buckle some what about his feelings, until Kuuko comes in and her and Nyrauko start like the fights of all fights! They made a mess and Mahiro made sure they were punished for it. All seems calm after, until Kuuko’s cousin Kuune, who shares a very steamy greeting with Kuuko. Best part of the episode for me! =3 Kuune is trying to marry Kuuko, who to throw her off the idea then says that her and Mahiro are an item and gets a little steamy with him, much to the discontent of Kuune and Nyrauko. All in all, this episode was really good. Especially for the huge yuri scene! Here’s the link to watch —
